decolonize your heart

Too many social justice movements are interested in preserving and privileging dominant cultures (whiteness, straightness, cisgender maleness, ability, and so on). Decolonize Your Heart maintains that examining privilege, decentralizing privileged viewpoints and letting go of the ego attached to privilege must become a root component of a progressive social justice movement philosophy, a movement that is intersectional at its core, a movement based fundamentally on respect. We as people who experience some or all dominant privileges must take responsibility for decentering ourselves from social justice movements. We love intersectional critique and history!
